Oracle Acquisition of Taleo: More Positioning for Oracle in Telecom

Oracle has agreed to buy human-resources software company Taleo Corp. (TLEO) for about $1.9 billion to expand in cloud computing and respond to a December deal made by SAP AG. (SAP).

Oracle Corporation is one of the leading providers of software, computer hardware products and services and is headquartered at Redwood City, California in Unites States. Though primarily known for concentrated focus on databases, it also assists companies in areas such as managing business data, collaboration and application development, customer relationship management and supply chain management.

Oracle’s game plan is to focus around its positioning as one-stop shop (so-to-speak) vendor for telecom related areas including the Cloud through its varied offerings that span across various horizontal applications.
