Between 2010 and 2012, the SDM market saw an ever increasing demand for the unification of ID management services. Amid the demand many large multinational Carriers are now able to manage a single subscriber identify across a centralized database encompassing multiple networks.
In addition Carriers are now requesting their SDM suppliers to decouple their back-end subscriber data repositories from front end application interfaces, thus opening a path towards a multi-vendor environment.
Between 2013 and 2014, Mind Commerce expects that Carriers will increase their focus towards the commercialization of SDM APIs. Together with this Carriers will begin to leverage data attained from third parties incorporate those into their own SDM platforms.
A key challenge that Carriers will face with the commercialization of SDM APIs will be tackling the privacy issues that will arise due to the dissemination of subscriber data, including preference, location and usage information to third parties.For more information, see:
