Many factors are driving towards mobile social and broadband being a combination that will become a force to be reckoned with for commerce. By way of example, more than half of consumer activity during Christmas day took place on mobile devices, according to a study by mobile analytics platform Mixpanel.
We see this trend continuing beyond holiday shopping as end-users increasingly rely upon mobile for more than just all communications as it becomes the preferred medium for commerce, entertainment, and applications. Some more aggressive analysts have postulated that mobile will become the Internet.
We see the convergence of LTE, social and commerce represents an opportunity for wireless communications companies, commerce companies, and enterprise of all types to provide value-added solutions for retail customers to realize benefits across the entire advertising-to-purchase spectrum.
