ACI is an electronic payment processing company; recently they started working in mobile payment sector. Their main products are cover by retail banking, including debit and credit card issuers along with Wholesale banking, including corporate cash management and treasury management operation. In Q1 2012, ACI Worldwide conducted a survey of 4,200 consumers in 14 countries across three regions:
- The Americas (North and South America): Brazil, Canada, and the United States EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa): France, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom The Asia-Pacific: Australia, China, India, and Singapore
The survey data was weighted to represent the overall age distribution of each country’s population. With 300 surveys conducted in each of the 14 countries, in each country, the data has a margin of error of 6 points at the 95% level of confidence. Current use of mobile payments across the countries studied ranges from roughly two-thirds of consumers in China and India to just a little more than one in 10 in France and Canada, with an average of 35% for the countries included. Mobile banking adoption is higher than mobile payment penetration in every one of the 14 countries surveyed, with an overall average of 45%, and India is leading the way with 76% adoption.
ACI worldwide is going into the m-payment sector aggressively with good platforms. The strong point of ACI world is their security. They focus on security more than any other thing. On 21 March 2011, ACI announced the acquisition of ISD Corporation. This strategic acquisition will bring together two of the industry’s marquee providers of payments software under one organization. ACI worldwide is working with Credit Agricole Cards and Payments to update the company’s payments infrastructure and deliver world-class scalability, reliability and agility to one of the biggest banks in Europe that manages one of the world’s largest ATM networks. Credit Agricole Cards and Payments have built its payment infrastructure using BASE24-eps, ACI’s flagship payment engine.

News America Marketing is a division of News Corporation; they recently announced that its SmartSource coupons will be going mobile. They are the leading single-source provider of consumer marketing services. The company’s product portfolio, marketed under the SmartSource® brand name, consists of the first branded free-standing insert, known as SmartSource Magazine®, various in-store marketing products, merchandising services, database marketing tools and online promotions. These products and services allow marketers to deliver a brand message to over 200 million consumers each month via a network of 1,500 newspapers and over 50,000 supermarket, drug, office, mass merchandisers and dollar-store locations across the country, including Kroger, SuperValu, Safeway, Publix, Food Lion, CVS, Rite Aid Walgreens, Staples, Family Dollar and Dollar General.
Mainly News America is intent on finding new ways to reach coupon users. According to Scarborough research, “8.6 million, (or 8 percent) of U.S. households currently acquire coupons via text messages and/or e-mail. The company’s new SmartSource Xpress application will give shoppers the ability to easily find and digitally “clip” coupons for products from a wide number of popular household names including: Agave in the Raw®, Bertolli Olive Oil®, Brisk® Iced Tea, Campbell Soup Company, Colgate-Palmolive, Comet®, Domino® and C&H® Sugar, Energizer® brand batteries and flashlights, Hartz Mountain pet products, Hormel® branded products, Just for Men®, Mariani®Premium Dried Fruit, Kraft Foods, Ortega®, Rubbermaid, Schwan’s® Frozen Pizza, Sea-Bond®, Skinny Water®, Stevia in the Raw®, Sweet’N Low®, and Vagisil®. The savings can be sent to consumers’ registered shopper cards with a tap of the screen and then automatically redeemed using Direct2Card™ (D2C) technology at participating store checkouts.
Zavers is a pioneer in the e-coupon sector. They are providing the same service as News America, but in more efficient way. It has been acquired by Google recently, as a step from Google to dominate the coupon market.
With the rise of smartphones, the market has been exploding. Today, Zave Networks takes their cause to a much bigger potential audience. Zave networks provide their coupons on mobiles now.
